発表概要

It is very exciting to speak in a second language (e. g., English) but, on the other hand, it is hard to overcome the psychological burden when you are a beginning speaker. Beginners usually worry about their inability to speak correctly, or their failure to understand what is being said to them.

The movie E.T. might give us an idea how to overcome such worries. In the movie, Elliot meets E.T. and brings him into the world of communication. Elliot supports E.T.so that he feels confident enough to keep talking.

In my presentation, I am going to deal with Elliot's role as a speaker and as a listener. I will also make some suggestions about communicative strategies to overcome this kind of psychological burden.
