これは大統領を護るSecret Service Agentが彼の鋭敏さで事件の真相を追うサスペンス・アクション映画。事件が起こった時、その瞬間を複数のカメラが捉えていた。Vantage Pointは、８つの視点から。★はどれか？サスペンスものはスリルと謎解きの快感が一番だが、この映画にはそれ以上のものがある。事件の背後には、retaliation, snatch, recoverにからむ人間のinnocence, humanityが垣間みえる。人と人との関係や国際事情の理解には手間どるが、映像が多くセリフの少ない、いわば、「パズル解き作品」として秀逸。
◇「映画英語」授業向き。予告編の視聴後に、ロードショーを見に行くのがよい。
